Hens stopped laying

Yes, we were giving them lots of spinach & kale. They absolutely loved it. But the source of that ran out. I'm planting some this week, so hopefully the free range chickens will leave it to grow enough that we and the cooped up chickens can have some.

I hope to have a garden next year and will def be planting kale. Good luck with your chickens and kale.

i have the same problem, my hens are not laying eggs, they are not eggbound or broody and i am giving them egg layer. Can anyone help me please?

they do slow down on their laying, when the days get shorter. They need more than scratch feed and cracked corn.that does not provided the vitimins and minerals that they need to keep them healthy.

I know, i am giving them egg layer, and no corn. they like eating ants all over my backyard. someware else on the forum someone said that after 2 or 3 eggs they will take a week off to get used to there new nest :)

You know what chickens also love...turnip leaves! I'm off subject, but I saw about spinach and kale one here and wanted to add that mine go gaga for turnip leaves (that's the only thing they really destroyed in my garden). I'm planting spinach next year! Thanks for the great idea :)

My four girls were laying well on layer pellet, but don't seem to like the pellets anymore, and are hardly laying at ll. Should I try another brand?

I figured it out! My hens free range and i found 9 eggs hidden, you should check all over your yard to find them if you are not getting any eggs

Mine have stopped laying recently as well. I have 5 hens and have gotten 5 eggs on a couple of occasions but mostly 4. A couple of weeks ago they starting only producing 2-3 and then 2 and now it has been almost 2 days since we have seen any eggs.

They are 7 months old and have been laying for 2.5months. I started with starter feed and followed the schedule on the back of the bag to increase the feed size accordingly to their age. Any advice?
