Hens taking dust bath in wood chips?

My hens are ignoring their dust bath in favor of rolling about in the wood chips. Could this pose any risks to their health and well being?

I concur. Mine are rolling around in wood chips to the exclusion of dust as well. Tasty treats plus a bath! What's better?

No harm, and they're probably pushing past the chunkier stuff on the surface to get to smaller particles and/or cooler soil underneath.
