I love a broody hen, love the hope and waiting, and disappointment - cause it does have failures.
I too, wonder about your nests. Mine are small and dark, and my hens always go broody in them, since I got the nests. Years and years ago, I had a hen disappear, thought something got her, and her she came with balls of fluff following her.
Good luck, it is too early for me here, Mrs. Feathers has been a good broody for me, and April went once last year, but we need to wait until May or June here.
