I personally think we spend to much time trying to make chickens do what WE want them to do instead of allowing them to do what THEY want to do. I’m guilty of this myself of course. I think in time they will figure out out.
I had a similar coop with 6 hens I put in it. I put them in the coop part at first and let them venture out on their own. In no short time all 6 made it down to the run where they camped out for a few nights. Eventually they made their way back up to the coop. Just give them time is my suggestion. I don’t think it will hurt anything if they spend some time not in the coop
