Let us know! I just lost a hen to a wing break with bone sticking out as I could not afford $380 to amputate. So I am just biting my nails over your situation and praying for the best!

Two inches is too much bone sticking out for skin to heal over. Bone will have to be trimmed back in order for skin to grow and cover bone. Start her on antibiotics ASAP as a open bone of this size will result in infection. I agree with previous posts,if your vet will not treat her,you will have to cut bone yourself. Sterilize cutting utensil/bone/area around bone, cut fast and accurate. Cut back enough for skin to seal up over bone. Then apply an antibiotic ointment. You can purchase metacam from a vet for pain relief, but if vet does not carry it then you will have to use aspirin, dose approx 1/2 hour before cutting. For cutting bone,i would use poultry shears they are made to cut through bone. Watery poop is a result of not eating and i would imagine shock, give her the electrolytes.Update: I went to check on her and i found an egg in her kennel her poop is watery and she hasn't eaten.
How did your chicken end up doing? Did she make it?
