Hens with Diahrhea???What do I do???

Hi here is my problem. I have 25 hens and I have three with diaherhea and very dirty bottoms! I have been out of town for the last 6 days, my oldest son has been watching them. Everyone seems fine the 3 girls that have the very dirty bottoms are two for my b-rocks and one black star, but they eat, had nice clean water. They all came running to me when I got home and ate some boss. I have just never seen them with such a dirty bottom or had a diahrhea problem?? They have not had there yogurt and oatmeal for a week could that be it??

No one is acting sick our looks sick everyones combs look nice and red. any info you have I will love you all Know so much.

These hens will be a year old in May and I have been getting 13-17 eggs a day so I belive they are still laying!

Hi Erica-
What are you feeding them?
You'll need to clean their bottoms because it will build up very fast. Wash them in the sink with shampoo and cut off any of the parts that are too crusty to wash. If it's cold out, blow dry their bottoms on the warm setting (not hot) before putting them outside.
It could be anything from diet to a sickness that they aren't displaying. Birds are very good at hiding sicknesses until it's too late, so keep an eye on them.
In the mean time, make sure you are feeding them the proper diet.

I am feeding them 20% laying crumbles, and they get about a cup of cracked corn and boss a day. I just throw that out for them and they have a acre to free range in. They have not even had any food scrapes for about 6 days. and I have oyster shells out for them if they want it so I am just puzzled to what is going on ?

Ps I over fill my sheep water and my b-rocks where both running around with great big worms, they seem fine.

what color are the droppings?

could your son have given them lettuce/veggies/kitchen scraps?

have they been wormed?
