My 2 Light Sussex hens have most of their feathers missing from their backs, and you can see the pink flesh. My other bantam hens are not like this. I have a light sussex cockeral who is at these hens every opportunity. I have been told that I should not let my Roo sleep in the same hen house as the birds as they wont get any respite from him, and thats why their backs are raw. Is this true?
I have just bought a new hen house to rehouse the birds on a different site. When I move the birds should I put the Roo in a seperate hut and whats the best way to do it?

It sounds like you need to separate the rooster quick. After the feathers return you could get saddles to put on the hens to protect their backs from your amourous rooster.
