hens wouldnt Lay

we just started with chickens built a coop and run.we got 20 hens from a farmer close by mostly rir about 2 weeks ago.10 eggs 1st day now 1 or2 a day. i was told that buy moving them and changing their feed they may stop laying is this true and how long before they pick back up. farmer said they were 2yr to 3yrs old.thanks for any help

I won't be much help but this will bump you back to the top. My chickens quit laying a couple of weeks ago and are just now starting back. There are lots of reason chickens stop. Weather changes, changes in feed, molt, going broody, and just because they "can". That last one is just to drive you crazy.
Give them a week or two before you panic.
I was told by a friend who has a friend....LOL
Anyway, she said add oats to their feed. If no eggs for me tomorrow after 2+weeks I will give it a shot.
