So I was getting meat birds butchered yesterday and they told me 1 bird from the guy they did before had Hepititas. What the heck does that mean? It of course was rejected but no one seemed to jump to much??? Like In the back of my mind i was like omg!! Is it something that occurs sometimes to chickens? Is it something that is super contagious and i should be watching out for in my flock? I have had a few randoms die over the year but nothing like major losses( Like around spring / winter time is the last time i ever lost one which had no symptoms of anything really just kinda dead) Now i'm kinda freaking lol. What should i be looking out for in the chickens they all look fine other than I have a feather plucking issue on tail feathers still thats actually getting better too...

Hepatitis is an enlarged liver due to... disease mostly. I wouldn't worry too much about it. But I would definitely bleach your boots and wash your clothes before going near your birds so you don't carry it into your yard.
