Her first week of laying and are BR has laid 6 eggs since Tuesday!

Wow I am excited, I was expecting about 50 a week but we will probably get alot more

I have 11 BR pullets that are 12 weeks old. I'm looking forward to when they start laying. How old were your BR's when they first started laying? I am trying to figure out when Ineed to have my nest boxes all put into place.

We only have one, she was supposed to be a Marans. But I am happy now to have an even more diverse flock

And I love her, she has become very sweet now that she is laying

She just started laying last Tuesday and started squatting a week or so before. She is six months actually, I was thinking she was a little older.

Wow, that's great. My BR just started laying yesterday and I wondered how much to expect over the first week. None today, but who knows, maybe tomorrow. She's acting very territorial about the nest today, though she seems less uncomfortable than when she was expecting that first egg.
