~~Here be spooders!!!!~~ ( and other critters!!)

She is a Lasiodora parahybana. One of the largest species of tarantula in the world, and still growing.

Both of her colors are beautiful!

I remember meeting a tarantula at summer camp when I was a kid. Strangely, THAT didn't bother me! She tickled when she walked, and seemed generally pretty chill.
 
Does anyone know what spider this is? It's on a web outside, but not an orb or funnel. This is the view of the spider's belly (it's always upside down). Parts seem almost iridescent!

That's an orchard orb weaver! Not sure which species you have over there but here's a few pics of ones we have here:

The iridescence on the underside of their abdomens attracts fruit flies and gnats and other little flies!

Very amazing to watch them rebuild their webs each day, they work so fast and methodically 😁
