Here's a strange one for you we've got a new egg layer, only we can't have!
We have 20 chickens total.
4 boys
16 girls
1 X olive egger
1 X cream legbar
2 X Cotswold blue (hybrid blue egg layer)
2 X Araucana
1 X Blue Orpington (pinkish egg)
1 X lavender Brahma (light brown speckled white egg)
1 X ISA brown (brown egg)
1 X Rhode Rock (darkish brown egg)
1x Barred Rock (brown egg)
1 X Welsummer (speckled brown egg)
2 X Wheaten Marans (super dark egg)
1 X BCM (super dark egg)
1 X Leghorn
Today someone has laid a light brown egg that we've never had before. It's super pale, I can't figure out who it could be! The fun thing is it's the colour of a speckled Sussex egg, so now of course my husband is convinced the slow growing SS Roo is a girl so we've been out looking at chicken butts with a torch
Who knew chicken keeping could be such fun! The suspect egg is on the top left. I think the ink ran out of the barred rock.
