Here Grows The Flock

I finished our new henhouse this past week. I must admit that it is fun watching our flock get used to it.
W did get 6 eggs out of our 7 girls yesterday.

The new house is a hit and the inside lighting works great. Here is a picture of the nesting box.

Took some butter milk out today. They loved it.

The girls gathered eggs today and had a big surprise, 11 eggs out of our 7 hens. I didn't expect that.

Just hung their first cabbage today, now they are hiding under the henhouse. I can't wait to see what happens next.

Have they decided that the cabbage is NOT the enemy?

It took them the better part of the afternoon to really get going on the cabbage, but they got it. The first cabbage took about three days to disappear, the second took about two hours.
