Your multicolored guys are just so BEAUTIFUL!
We are so lucky that we are permitted to have roosters. They add so much aesthetic to the chicken yard.
My two are in two different yards, and they take VERY good care of their hens! They ensure they are fed, they watch so that no one (even I) comes to bother them.
Also, they sing! All day long! Beautiful songs, though the lyrics are a bit monotonous, and my brown one (the Easter Egger mix), sings this way: Nice loud and clear "cocka doo", and then he runs out of breath and the "del doo" part is off key and slightly hoarse sounding. He is like a bad trumpet player at the end, and I always laugh. The Plymouth Rock one sings a lovely cockadoodle do, and a glissando at the end. It is a consistently good clear sound every time, and a little louder than the Easter Egger! I checked with my neighbors because, though legal, I do not want anyone to be upset, and they ALL told me they hear our two guys and the LIKE the singing. It makes them feel they are on a farm!
