Not sure about the tsc stores where you live but around here they have a minimum 6 chick limit to purchase.

Hey I'm a newbie so my suggestion(s) may be suspect...

I purchased a small coop with a run because it was more cost effective than buying the materials..I also didn't have time to do the pallet build....If I was going to do the pallet build I would dis-assemble all the pallets first, then build(I'd suggest caulking or silicon the seams)...I intend to line the coop I am buying with a mylar emergency blanket.. and be sure to put wire/fencing under the coop and run...the chickens will probably draw every critter for miles...my two cents...good luck!

Now I am getting six chicks (thanks to a min purchase!). My husband said I could use some of our old privacy fencing, That will make it super easy to put together.
