HERE is where we are going to talk about a sustainable meat bird flock

Are you breeding them again for more hatches??

Yes.... This is the first leg of my project. I also have Standard Cornish X Marans and Standard Cornish X Jeresy Giant in the incubator now. I plan to breed the best of them next. It will take a while but I am having fun doing it.

I have about 150 eggs in the incubator now. Pure blood Cornish, Marans, and Jeresy Giants as well as the Xs.

All of the above, I think.

I never worked for any beef industry group or Monsanto for that matter. I have eaten BarBQued donkey (burro) @30 years ago.

Wow. That's some project. You have to let us know how it goes.

I haven't had much luck finding Buckeyes here in OK, either. Are you planning to mix them in with your project, or are you just planning to raise them apart from it?

I will do both at first and see which I like the best. From what I have seen in pics of them dresses, I may be happy without trying to cross them.

There is a guy not too far from here I have heard that has some nice Buckeyes but I haven't gone up to see him yet. He gets $60/doz for the eggs but they won't have to be shipped. He always seems to have a waiting list. That is a little more than I want to pay right now but if I don't fine any good ones cheaper, I will pay it.

$60.00 a dozen

I think you should troll through that thread I posted and contact one of the BYC breeders. I'm getting 25 day-old chicks for $100.00 shipped. At least I know my 2 dozen are fertile
