I started off on the 26th of may with 48 eggs, from an unknown source. I decided to run this hatch to bring in outside blood to the neighborhood flock. I candled the eggs 10 days in and I pulled 18 to the side they looked like duds, a week later I looked at them again and tossed all them but 1. Even that 1 eventually got tossed, it wasn't making it. I believe it started and quit. Here late in the day on the 27th day, I have 7 healthy looking chicks, 12 more eggs that have piped, and 11 more that candle good and show no signs of piping yet. This morning there were two piped eggs, one of these piped late on the day before the 26th day. One of the eggs not yet pipped is significantly smaller than all the others, not as pointed, and even darker. I am anxious to see what that one looks like if it makes it. At first I thought it might be some bantam chicken egg, but it would have hatched a week ago if it was. Here we go, LOL I dont need 30 birds by the way, or even 20, if you are near Pilot point TX, and you need some keets, let me know, I will make you a deal on some of them. Another one just piped while I was rwriting this I just checked.
