how on earth can you sex an earwig and afruit fly? they both look like insects. does one wear high heels and the other doesn't? I'm having images of fruit flys in wigs.
 
Let's assume that you guys can sex an earwig and a fruitfly. That brings us to the threshold question.....WHY? One you squish and the other you swat regardless of it's XY chromosome.
