I know that some coccidia are can be restistant to amprolium, but I have also read lots of veterinary books, studies, etc. and have not seen any reference to amprolium's effectiveness being limited to three strains. Please do find that reference for us.

Did it say three chicken strains? What about turkey, duck, peafowl, dog, cat, goat, cow etc?

no Kathy i specifically was searching for chicken cocci. I am searching the fda data sheets on amprolium now and though it does not state it wont affect other strains of cocci it does only mention it is for the control of three strains.
I really wish i knew how to drag a url over to this site.

Would it be easier for you to email the link?

So i have emailed you 2 sites. Please get back to me soon as you do some research.
I am considering culling the flock. As i said i lost another hen. ( the one i had on amoxicillin) and yesterday i found signs of fowl pox in 2 of my boys. The feed store did not have the applicators then i got thenm in the ail a few days ago but for fear of stressing my birds more i hesitated on administering it. I now have birds that can and will infect my future birds with cocci and fowl pox. Reality is i should cull huh?
