Are the RIR's accepting the silkies? They tend to be aggressive and often silkies are picked on for looking so different. If raised together as chicks, they generally do well in multi breed flocks.

All in all they seem to do great with each other. I have 3 orpingtons as well & I got them and the RIRs together, then about 2 weeks later the got the silkies. They were all about 2 weeks old when they were put together. They definitely have a general pecking order, and the silkies like each other more than anything else, but they don't get bullied.
