Heres my Girls

Quote:
sometimes roosters do that to their "favorite" girls....

Thats whats causing it mainly, but there is a little bit of picking from the other hens when one is in a nesting box laying an egg.

This hen looks exactly like a hen i got at the flea market some months ago. I asked the guy what she was and he said -"some kind of old game hen" LOL Looking at more pictures later- She looks a lot like silver phoenix hens I saw. I'm gonna go back on feathersite or google images and see if I can find a better pic. My hen has slate colored legs- If I can find a pic I will post the link- Nice looking birds by the way!!
Here's a link to welp hatchery's pic- http://images.google.com/imgres?img...ges?q=silver+phoenix&hl=en&safe=off&sa=G&um=1

you have a lot of different chickens did you get them all together or over time, they look great and its a great set up you have wish i had the room

I dont think she is a phoenix because she doesnt have the tail.

As for the girls I got all of the ones in the big coop at once from Welp Hatchery. The ones in the little coop are from a FFA project in 01 or 02 and have had them ever since. I got them from Tractor Supply Company along with my ducks.
