Here's the fox that's been friends with my chickens

It's really easy in on-line conversations to think that everyone's situation is like ours, isn't it? Not so. we do not share the same climate, neighborhood, cultural backgrounds or even the same attitudes about "responsibility". Seems to me that it's way too easy to miss a few pertinent facts when we react to another person's decision making process. Sorry that happened to you.
Most excellent point. Some folks don't read carefully enough and/or don't have the experience to be responding.

Jeez guys. I trapped the fox bc I saw it was sick and I didnt want it to spread mange to my dog, family, anything else. It was RIGHT by my back door. I dont understand the hostility to me trapping a fox. And just because the fox didnt attack my hens doesnt mean it wont either. Food is growing scarce now. Im calling fish and wild life and if they dont have an option besides death I have a friend already ready to take the fox because their job is to rehabilitate and relocate wildlife. Thanks to everyone with suggestions tho. I appreciate it.
Also I live close to the city so a fox out here in the open is weird.

I agree. You should've trapped that fox. You saw an injured animal, and decided to help. 8T Also Helps You AND You R family, and alSo oTHER Local foxes, But You Are Also Helping thIs fox. I would do the same thing if I caught a fox like that

I have contacted a license wildlife rehabilitation lady and she has agreed to take it in and give him the medical attention he needs. I will let u guys know the outcome after she treats him.
Your good deed was answered! Your heart was in the right place. FYI it’s worth calling the dec and finding out more about the right and wrong thing to do re wild animals. I’m glad this worked out! Funny how this fox fell on your doorstep:)

Excellent point and well put.

I'm in ky. I'm hoping they will help me out about it. And i appreciate everyone who added in a positive or helpful suggestion. I understand we all differ on opinions but complaining about me trapping it or wanting to get it some help is useless at this point because its already done. Im glad the majority of responders on this post was informative though.
I'm like you, and I would have trapped it the taken it to one of the wildlife rescue centers. :hugs
