Heritage Large Fowl - Phase II

Been pretty busy lately. Got some pics.

As of right now I have 47 La Flèche and 36 Buckeyes in my spare bedroom. With even more Buckeyes out in the garage. Going to hatch 2 more batches of La Flèche then wait til March to do anymore.

Nice looking chicks.

Grommets are definitely the preferred method if I can get them into this stuff. I got the heaviest duty grommets I could find online. This billboard tarp is incredibly heavy - it's a 31 mil thickness and the 16' x 16' tarp weighs over 70 pounds. Was looking for alternatives in case I can't get the grommets into this stuff. I know how hard it can be to get those things properly installed in lighter weight materials. Been there. Done that. Ouch. Working up the courage to try it on this billboard tarp. Maybe I need some Calf Manna for conditioning first.

I am curious to see what you end up doing to secure the billboard. I plan on ordering some this spring for my coop. The heavy duty tarp I purchased last spring has not held up well so someone had suggested the billboard tarp. Hopefully it will last a lot longer with our different seasons and artic temps.

Was that pic taken today? Looks like spring time! I have 8 inches of snow (not much, really) but the temps are dropping like a ball bearing!
Wow, lol. Maybe I don't want to move to WV as much as I used to

. We just have a light bit of dust on the ground right now.

Completely jealous....Trying again in a few days so in a week I'll know if there's improvement.

This is the worst winter we will have had in decades. Summers are very comfortable and Fall is absolutely great. Other advantages....Friendly people, no food tax and for that matter, taxes in general are very reasonable compared to most places.

I think you have been to Morgantown? Come visit where I live sometime...If you don't need bright lights and lots of excitement, you love it here.

This was taken from my back yard a couple Springs ago.
