Those short backs are not something to forget.The shorter the back, the fewer eggs you will get. Just don't confuse long tailed Orps, with true long backed ones.A good Orp should be as wide at the hips, as it is at the shoulders.Couple that with a good deep front, with an ample bread basket, and you'll get eggs and meat.This is a great back end on a 7 1/2 month old cockerel. Notice the width of tail coverts too. He will throw daughters with great top lines, and good feather quality also.

Going in for cataract surgery Monday. You folks will have to do without my caustic humor and pearls of hard earned wisdom.

In fact, after the surgery, things are bustin' loose around here with the favorable weather and multiple projects, I won't have time to sit on my butt and torment the good folks on this and other threads.

Not saying I won't be back one day but it will be long enough that some of you might actually be glad to see the Rabbit Avatar.

I'll be certain that those who want my personal EMail will have it...

I had both eyes done 1 week apart.. Piece of cake. Really. No worries at all. Good luck. Check back to keep in touch anyway. You won't be THAT busy.
