In my search for a Holland breeder a while back (I'd maybe like to get some when I can get chickens and try to help preserve the breed) I found this farm:

http://www.heirloomheritagefarms.com/

They're now selling off all their stock due to a divorce and I figured I'd post this link in case anyone would be interested in their stock. I don't know the quality of their birds or anything and I think you have to be local (they're in Washington) but I do think it'd be nice if those genetics could be saved. I really wish I could get chickens now so I could take the Holland flock. -sigh- I'm sure there are other Hollands out there, obviously, but I've been unable to find other breeders.

Anyway, not sure if I'm allowed to post that link or not - if not this post can be removed - but if anyone was interested in their stock, hopefully this link could help.

That is so sad. I looks like they had a great thing going there.

If I lived in the NW, I'd get their Langshans.

wishful...I've got a 9 week old flock of Hollands that I'm growing out right now. So far, they look REALLY nice. But only time will tell if they'll produce the correct white eggs. Keep my name "shelleyb1969" in mind and contact me in the fall if you like. If my flock matures into what they should be, then I'll be offering hatching eggs to a few people.

I'm glad to hear that, shelley

I'm in college at the moment so won't be able to get chickens for at least a few years, but it is good to know there's someone on here breeding Hollands - I hadn't seen anyone mention that they had any, just a few people occasionally mentioning their existence in talks of heritage birds. If you're still breeding Hollands when I am eventually able to get chickens, I hope I remember your name.

If my Hollands mature to meet standards, then I'll definitely be keeping them indefinitely. In fact, they'll probably replace one of my other standard breeds. When you're ready, you can always do a search and find this thread to remember me by.

Best of luck with college!
