I was happy to final to get my eggs from this swap since we are shutting down the incubator. When I got them from the post office, I knew I would have broken eggs. The box was already leaking. The box DID NOT have fragile or hatching eggs anywhere on the box. I know some people don't put it on there but I believe that if you don't they don't take as good as care of the box. The box is dented but I have received dented boxes before with no broken eggs several times before Out of all the eggs I have received from bought and swap eggs. This is the worse packaging job I have ever gotten. I am only posting this because I want others to learn that shipping eggs this way will only give you broken eggs. I NEVER ship eggs in egg cartons. I know others do but everytime I receive eggs in egg cartons I get atleast one broken egg except for once out of all these years. If you want to ship in egg cartons, please wrap each egg in bubble wrap before you put then in the cartons not paper. Here are the pictures of the eggs. Every single egg is broken. I don't have anything to put in the incubator. After waiting more than two months, I have nothing.
I did not name any names because I just wanted to help others learn the way not to send eggs. I have sent eggs before and the buyer did get a few broken. It happens I understand. But if you don't wrap them correctly to start with you are asking for problems. I always try to wrap them the best I can. I want my customers to get beautiful chicks and ducklings from my eggs. I care about the people I am sending to and the eggs I am sending. My birds are a big part of my family and I love sharing them with others.
I must say though, I have had good luck with eggs shipped in egg cartons. Most importantly, the egg carton MUST be FIRMLY taped closed ALL AROUND it. Then, the packing material in the box must be packed FIRMLY, not loosely. Each individual egg should be wrapped, of course. I also prefer using 2 egg carton bottoms, instead of the flat top egg carton top. I would never use that small postage box you received either. I prefer to use 2 boxes, too ...... makes it a bit sturdier and harder to crush.

I think the problem was that the carton wasn't taped closed. The eggs were bouncing around. The only eggs I received in egg cartons that none were broken was taped up so much that I had a hard time getting the carton open and I had a great hatch from those eggs too.

Yes, that is imperative! One time I received eggs in a carton with one piece of tape around the middle ..... eggs bounced around and 2 from the end were even OUT of the carton! They have to be packed firmly, not loose.
