Heritage SQ Egg Chain Swap Thread

Well the issue is that we are already overrun with chickens and about 20 some odd goats so ducks are out. The pond we had in Florida was an issue because it attracted so many amphibians, like frogs, toads etc. That would make a terrible racket all night
I used to go out at night with a head lamp and catch them then relocate, but the pond was like a magnet, they keep on coming
I did enjoy my koi fish, though;-)

I will take the buff ducks.
I was holding out until I could get more than 6 because its not a good idea to incubate duck eggs with chicken eggs, and I didn't want to run the bator for just 6 lol but.....hopefully I'll run across more duck eggs soon.

I will offer 3-4 LF blk cochin eggs and 2-3 buff orps eggs depending on who lays. I'll try to include as many cochin eggs as I can, and they will ship late next week most likely.

Sorry I don't have any on my phone, which is how I'm getting online at the moment. Unless the hens skip a couple of days I can try to send all 6 cochin eggs?

So tempting, so tempting...on the cochin eggs!!!

I'm going to try, and wait a few, and give someone else a chance at these eggs.

I will say this..... I have received 2 batches, of MO's LF Black Cochin eggs. First one, week and a half ago.... and the other one came in the mail, just this morning.
She packs GREAT!! NICE large eggs. And the out of the first 6 shipped....I have development in 5 out of the 6.

About the duck pond.

If frogs are a problem, use a wading pool. Just fill it twice a week and dump it out in the evening. (so the ducks get to swim 2 days per week)

It's hard for me to imaging a pond with frogs that aren't converted into duck food, but the ducks really do not need to swim. Swimming can be used as a treat.

The ducks just need to be able to rinse their heads when they eat.
