I stand corrected - I sent 5 emails during a 6 month period and this is the response.. wouldn't they have noticed an improper order 6 months ago??? I guess that might be why they get excessive emails....

""your order has been cancelled for improper ordering...all females. and excessive emailing for ship dates. you will be refunded through paypal according to our terms and conditions stated on the order information page""

WOW. Just wow.

NEVER heard of anything like before in my life.
I read this from their website:

"If you order sexed ducklings you can order no more than a 2/1 ratio that means 2 females to 1 male.
we will correct your order if you order all females
if the breed limit is 10 you can not order 10 females
ducks breed better in pairs or trios
"

It states they will "correct" the order if you order wrong. Not cancel. Again, I copied this from their website. YUCKY.

i read that on the website too. why would someone order all females after reading that you cant

Theft is theft and we've now plainly proven that they're liars, even on their own website. All of your posts are in this thread, and all of them are defending this hatcheries' bad business practices. Either you're a plant or you're an employee of PRP.

I don't work for them either, but I know how to read. The complainers seem to be the people that think the rules are for others or that those typed words on a page (rules) mean nothing. I can't feel sorry for those that simply don't want to LISTEN, or READ, the rules.

Considering that just on this thread the many who didn't follow directions and kept pestering these folks, I wonder how many calls they get from people not here, every day, from someone asking when they are shipping? You do realize that in smaller operations, someone is probably running across the pasture ( or interrupting their baking) to answer the phone, then have the same question asked that they VERY CLEARLY stated they did not want asked.

"FORCIBLY" cancelled is not the correct term. They violated two rules they had agreed to. I would charge them a fee too, just for the headache I'd get from smacking my own forehead...

Yes I paid money and it will probably be six months before I get my birds, but mine is a small hobby farm and I have enough animals to take care of to worry when my chicks will arrive. They will arrive when they are ready. I will be happy that they are healthy and that I have my dream birds that come from nicer stock.

Please, people, don't blame others that you don't follow rules.

If people want to operate on their own terms and not be required to communicate with their paying customers at all then they should not deal with the public. Even the Soup Nazi gave you your money back.

He has a point. I'm gobsmacked at anyone who would defend such abominable behavior by someone who runs a business. To keep a business you need NOT to piss off the people who buy from you. Taking money, then dropping all contact for half a year is simply disgusting. At the one month mark any sane person would assume that they were scammed.

If your hatchery is so unwilling to communicate, and even go so far as to forcibly cancel the order (yes, I repeat that word because no matter what you say it's true if the buyer had no say in it) simply for trying to get word about where a buyer's money has gone, then at best you shouldn't be in business and at worst, you're a sociopath.

amykins....looks like you placed an order.....no ducks for you
No, I just have a low tolerance for thieves and miscreants.
maybe if you read the emails that they sent you wouldnt have such a strong oppinion
You're not helping yourself here, Plum. In fact you're only making it less likely that anyone will ever buy from you again. What did you expect with that kind of attitude?

I think we ALL need to calm down! I have re-read what EVERYONE has said on this thread (including Plum) and I think this thread needs to either stop or we all need to agree to disagree. They do have rules and if they are a small run operation, they will ship when they ship. IF they stole money, then this should be resolved somewhere OTHER than a thread on a website and the buyer should be re-paid. Make a phone call, email or something or than doing this in the open. I am done with this thread.
