Just been done to my coop and the little ark where my roo Loz used to be. We opened the door and his little head was tucked right down and all his neck feather splayed about. Can't believe I lost my roo but I don't no what it was! We thought he had impacted crop and massaged the crop and gave him lots of water and bread soaked in olive oil. When he let out a breath he made this weird gurgly noise and the back of his crop and a bit of the front had gone purply but I thought that was just his colouring. What was it?

Sorry for your loss, Im glad you tried to help your rooster though.
Theres so many diseases out there with similar symptoms that its hard to pin point what your rooster had wrong with it, Especially over the internet. Gurgling when breathing is commonly a sign of worms though. When did he develop a purple chest?
