Hey all, happy to be here! I am from Saskatchewan Canada and a couple years ago I Reno’d an old grainary into a turquoise chicken coop! I allow my chickens to free range when weather permits...I’m in Canada 🇨🇦 LOL!
I have 35 barnyard cross laying hens, and 3 silkie hens! I also have 3 barnyard roosters, and now 2 silkie Roos! I have a LOVE of coloured eggs, and I enjoy hatching chicks naturally under my broody hens, last year for the first time and had 22 new babies from 3 hatches! Mamas and chicks 🐣 together are so cute!
I have silkies now and plan to put their broody nature to use and hatch some adorable silkie babies this spring! C4EADFED-5A9C-42F9-BA1A-687DB0BC43C3.jpeg 6D9A8CDF-4BCB-4F40-BFFC-511B806504FD.jpeg B71B56E7-167E-4F18-B389-9436F7B2C7D1.jpeg 2AC33979-555B-4133-ADFF-4BF5EFA532B2.jpeg

Welcome to BYC
I was born in Saskatchewan but live in Alberta
The babies are adorable !!
I have ducks and waiting on my first batch of babies. 6 in the incubator and then mom decided she wanted to go broody so has 8 under her
Lmao I was born in Alberta and moved to SK when I was 30. Funny! Thanks!
Oh cool remember her...she’s a broody keeper if she hatches them out!! Good luck!

Welcome Saskchickens! Very nice chicken house. Having just finished a winter coop for myself, I really can appreciate just how much work that is!
We also share a similar climate. I have been to Saskatchewan and I grow many fruit trees from Saskatchewan. How you look after chickens is greatly influenced by climate. Knowing others in similar regions has great value.
