I've got six hens (two buff orps, two ee's, one Plymouth barred rock, and one rir). I've also just acquired an indian runner of unknown sex and color (I think it's an apricot). This duckling is I think about five weeks old and will live separately from my flock for awhile until I'm sure it's disease free. Any advice on how to introduce the duck once it's big enough?

! Pleased you joined us! I've raised them together as chicks and ducklings but never tried to integrate them as adults. You might try posting that question in the duck thread below. Good luck to you!

Hello! I've heard that before and had another young one needed saving I would've gotten both, however this one was crammed in a cage with two full sized pekins and being trampled, which is the only reason I was allowed to save it. I've let the chickens see it through the fence and while right now they are none too kind to it, the duckling seems perfectly happy to be near them. I just don't want the poor thing being killed during introduction.
