Your intro line made me laugh so hard lol Welcome to the community!No, Iām not Carole Baskin. It just sounded like a catchy intro title. Iāve been a āchicken tenderā for a little over a year now, and I love it. But a year in the game still means Iām definitely a novice. Iām always looking to learn what I can so that I can maintain happy and healthy chickens. And Iām always happy to help when I can as well.
I live in a small-ish town in Utah, so we get pretty hot summers (currently in a heat spell and drought) as well as pretty snowy and cold winters (at about 6000 ft elevation).The altitude does present its challenges as well, particularly when it comes to hatching. Iāve recently taken an interest in breeding/hatching, particularly genetics-so thatās likely what Iām here for. That may come to a halt though as I just had to rehome my Roo last week (silly city rules).
I have a very mixed flock of hens, and I love how each one has their own chickenality. Yes, I think chickens have personalities but they arenāt persons, sooooā¦
