Hey all you Washingtonians LOOK OUT!!

Quote:
wow... chains.. usually the roads get cleared.. are they not?

You have to have snow under the chains right?

Well, they weren't cleared at all till we reached the tacoma/seattle area, and even then, it was falling fast enough that we couldn't see the road. So of the maybe 240 miles the chains saw, they weren't needed for about 30 of them. And you are supposed to have snow under chains, or you wear them out fast and big time.

Glad you made it home safe for Christmas, Silkiechicken

Oh my goodness..

That was the wierdest trip I have ever taken. My flight got canceled. Then I zig zagged across the us getting closer and further from seattle. Getting on via standby. My luggage didnt get as lucky as I did. It is still in memphis.

But Greyfields did you get out? SeaTac was shut down till later yesterday. And OM Goodness you wouldnt believe the mounds of luggage that were at the airport. Luggage that has come in witout the people.. People that their flights were canceled and their luggage went on without them.. It was crazy I took some pics with my cell phone I will have to figure out how to upload them...

But crazy...

so you finally arrived??? glad you made it, even if your luggage didn't... i can't even imagine the luggage nightmare that remains to be sorted out - with the winter storms all over the place. hopefully, you wore something warm-ish on the plane???

Not that I enjoy watching people ski, I more enjoyed watching them crash face-first intot he buildings at the bottom of the hill.

LOL greyfields!!! i was just wondering last night on the washingtonians thread whether the extremely gleeful enjoyment i have whilst watching cars attempting the hill by our house (and some really REALLY not making it.... i mean, there's "ohhh, just give it a try!" and then there's "give it another try. maybe it will work this time. maybe there's not as much ice on this side of the street. one more time... oh, look, now i'm stuck in a snow drift." der!) makes me a bad person deep down. it's good to know i'm not alone in the dumb-people watching addiction. ALMOST as addictive as fussing over my chickens!

ha ha thats funny..

we put chains on my mothers little prius.. and it i working great. so far no problem even on the hills..
