Hi all 
My name is Jenn. Happy to have joined this community! Every time I google something chicken related, I always find the answer here, so I figured I would join! Lol
We're not exactly new to raising chickens, we've been doing this a few years. We have 5 hens and 1 rooster +30 baby chicks that just hatched.
Our Roo is a pure lavender orpington, our hens are pure: gold laced wyandotte, buff orpington, easter egger and sapphire gem. The chicks are crosses of all of them, and we added 6 unknown breed chicks from the store that had no idea what they were. 
We do a lot here on our little homestead. We love to grow our own food, and make our own products. We have seven kids ranging from 6 months to 19 years old, and we live on a little hobby farm. We have 2 dogs, a mouser (cat) and are hoping to get goats soon.
