Hey chicken people! I notice most of you are from the U.S. I'm a UK chicken owner but hopefully the basics are the same :) it's lovely to meet you all! I don't know a great deal about my (hopefully) girls as the man I bought them from didn't either! Therefore if love some guidance on their breed age and gender please :) thank you in advance! I'll appreciate any help :) here are my lovely chickens!

As far as breed they could be a lot of things or even a mix. I cant tell gender from the picture, but as far as age I could say at least 4-5 months! Very pretty chickens!
 
They look vaguely like EE, Rhode Island red mixes? I have no idea, but the body shape looks like a RIR. You may have one hen one roo? Or both hens? They look maybe around 5 months old. Anyway, welcome to BYC! Please enjoy! :D

I could be wrong, but your 2 look very much like our Red Sex Link chickens. They are a hybred, not a true breed, and are egg laying machines. Whatever they are, I hope you are enjoying them!

The one on the right has more comb but, both have PALE combs at this stage, so I would guess they are both pullets. When they approach point of lay, their combs will enlarge and turn bright red, they also may 'squat' if you touch their backs (a mating position) = eggs will be coming soon.

Thank you very much! They are lovely looking Hens :) (hopefully ahaha) the man I bought them from dos say he believed them to be a cross breed! X

Thank you for your help! I'm very excited for eggs! I think the whole street will hear me when one lays! Are they at age for laying pellets? Thank you :) xx
