Hey.. so we asked a friend about getting some hens or eggs as we were interested in keeping some.. A week later he just arrives back with 5hens a rooster a duck and 24 eggs!!! Needless to say i knew nothing about keeping hens i swatted up on books, pintrest and asked people for advice all while i was trying to quickly build them a coop+run!! This is when i discovered BYC and im excited to try learn as much as i can from you all.. please forgive me il be the one asking dumb questions.. im not even sure what breed i have, everyone is a different colour!! Il attach some photos.. thanks for having us!!!!

Welcome to Backyard Chickens. It would have been nicer, if your friend has "eased" you into chickens, instead of pouncing on you with so much at one time but........ What's done is done!

I have Isa Browns, sex link and Easter egger...I see some of those in the pic. Enjoy!! Chickens are so fun!
Are you going to get a friend for the duck? Usually they like to have their own friend but maybe the chickens are enough. They also need lots of water/pool too!
