What breeds does your friend keep? They probably are mixes : )

No clue.. this man is the complete sterotype if i tell ya he lives hundreds of miles away remotely on his own usually only visits once a year i was shocked he came back the following week!! No telephone ect

Welcome to Backyard Chickens. It would have been nicer, if your friend has "eased" you into chickens, instead of pouncing on you with so much at one time but........ What's done is done!
Luckily BYC is here to rescue you. Let us know your specific problems one at a time, and I'm sure someone will be forth coming with a solution for you.

Aww thanks soo much, we are still finding our feet ensuring we have all their needs met, sometimes just as im reading stuff it might say something specific to certain breeds and i feel so bad i dont even know what they are! A Google image search is hitting me up with different breeds each time maybe it will be clearer as they've matured but im pretty certain the duck is a pomeranian duck from research and that our rooster is indeed a rooster as hes starting to try and crow and im crazy in love with already its soo cute but maybe not at 4am

I have Isa Browns, sex link and Easter egger...I see some of those in the pic. Enjoy!! Chickens are so fun!
Are you going to get a friend for the duck? Usually they like to have their own friend but maybe the chickens are enough. They also need lots of water/pool too! ☺

Ohh really thanks i must look into these breeds, yes we were also given duck eggs but none hatched and i feel she needs a friend, each evening id hear the duck make a commotion and id run look and it was always that the chickens had gone to roost and left her. So now iv added a lower roost both in the coop and the run she doesn't do this anymore. I definitely want to get her a friend but i think shes head of the flock she seems to be in charge i dont think shes lonely
