Hey everyone!! Just joining

BTW emus tend to run down other animals(if in the same yard) like chickens, and dogs etc. which they see as predators like wolves or coyotes.
Thanks for the input! We raised our emu with the chickens since she was a chick and she does great with them, even cuddles up and sleeps with our smallest silkie that can't get on the roosts (its adorable!) However it's been difficult trying to incorporate new chickens in.

Welcome to Backyard Chickens. I consider @Pyxis to be the "go to person" for emus, etc.
She hatches her own and knows a great deal about raising them. There is an "emu forum," you can find, scrolling down from the "Forums" at top of page.
Thanks! That helps a lot I will be in touch with her with my emu questions 😊

Personally I am fascinated with emus. I know without asking they would not be allowed where I live but, I hope/wish someone will come up with bantam sized emus which I'm pretty sure I could sneak behind some solid fencing. Shhhh don't tell!
