Hey Everyone!

Hello all,
Brand new chicken owner here looking for info and advice on any and all things chicken.
We live in Delco, about 13 miles outside of Philadelphia PA.
We have 8 chicks, 4 rare Marans, and 4 Easter Eggers.
Brand new to chickens, but we love them, and are eager to learn everything we can.
Our 4 children have helped name them all and we are loving watching them grow, seeing their personalities come out, watching them chase and play, and seeing their reactions to new foods.
I’m a chef and already overwhelmed at the thought of 4-6 eggs a day when our chickens are laying.
Very excited to be a part of this awesome community!

Do you have other animals as well? Duck eggs are good for baking, and quail eggs are fun for the children. You probably need a few goats at least.

You can use the milk in your baking!

Hey Bullchick-
I’d love to have a full homestead with goats, milking cow, and maybe a few other birds but unfortunately chickens are about all we’ll be able to get away with... and that’s still up to our neighbors not being annoyed by them. Hopefully it will all be fine.
Do you have a other animals as well as chickens?

I no longer have turkeys or ducks, but I do have quail. If you have an issue with the chickens and neighbors, quail are honestly still doable. The eggs taste the same as chicken.
