We've been doing chickens for about a year for the dual purpose of eggs, meat, and poo fertilizer. Right now we have 4 barred plymouth rocks and a fantastic rooster, but we just ordered 10 dominique chicks. We tried rhode island reds in the beginning, but weren't thrilled with them. It's been an adventure learning about chickens, their quirks, and assorted ailments, but we're up for more. We live in Hope Hull, Alabama and also have two cats and two rabbits. I'm looking forward to being a part of this group!
