new to the chicken wrld as well and loving it. we have rhode island reds i have 6 that are my own. and 13 i think that someone needed to find a home for. I am in the process of figuring out what they all are.

WOW! And here I always thought all the chickens were in NH!! It is wonderful to see how active small home farms still are in America. I think before I am through, I'll surely become an eggspert! Sorry folks, I couldn't let that pass by!!
So I am wondering how many do this for the egg production as a consumable at home, how many are for selling eggs for small profit, how many for fresh chicken dinner (hope that does not sound cruel) how many just as a hobby?
I am doing it as a mix, eggs to eat and as a hobby.
