Just wanted to let you know, I just checked the ordinances for Sugar Land, TX and it looks like you are okay to have them here.
This is from the city's site:

"Prohibited animals do not include livestock, fowl, poultry or normal household pets, such as a psittacine bird, canary, finch, cockatiel, hamster, guinea pig, gerbil, rabbit, ferret, fish or small nonpoisonous reptiles."

The only other thing you need to check is your HOA to make sure what their rules are, but usually cannot conflict with the city.
