Just want to say hi! I grew up in a small town in the DFW area before the whole place became an ocean of roofs crammed together. We were on 1.5 acres and had a small flock of chickens for years. I always swore I'd have chickens of my own one day...And now at 37 I'm finally leaving the suburbs and moving onto 10.5 acres about an hour and a half commute from Dallas, where my husband still has to work. We've got 4 kids under the age of 9 and may get to have a couple more. I'm so excited to give them the country life and raise chickens all over again! I still feel like a partial newbie though, because as a kid I didn't have to plan the chicken house/run, and I wasn't truly responsible for the well-being of those chickens. So here I am to gather info and get ideas!
