Hey Gang! Whatcha think of my plans and Rooster issue?

i'm so ready for eggs...we've got 1 15 week old, 2 @14 weeks, and 1 13 week pullet. i'm hoping they start earning their keep and start leaving me some little presents here in the next 4-5 weeks

. i probably should open up their nest boxes and toss in a few golf balls here relatively soon. did your hens faces/combs redden up before they started laying? mine are slightly red-ish, but not "rooster red". i've read on these forums that they usually redden up, but i'm wondering if they get to blazing red like you'd see on a rooster before they lay?
 
Mine are close the same age as yours, and I was wondering the same things!! Bring on the eggs!!

They did redden, but not blazing red ... a good red though .... you should get eggs in the next few weeks ...

got another one so far today :)
 
you're stronger willed than me, i would have already fried and ate those things up lol. a fine looking mess of eggs you have there though, i'm sure you'll enjoy them ;)
 
My bro had given me a few dozen from his birds so we just finished those up today ... it's weird, but I kinda don't want to eat them until I get a dozen :D
 
So I thought I would get at least 2 brown and 1 blue / green egg today ... but they only gave me 2 brown .... so a week ago I received my first egg and today I have 13 ...
