I have a dumb question, I cleaned out my coop Saturday (I use the deep litter method) and had been experimenting with a mixture of pine shavings and a forage blend of hay from TSC that I read about on BYC. When I cleaned the coop out, I found little tiny white worms around the feeding stations only.....I have been examining poop since and have not found any in poop....does this mean my chickens have worms???? It has been very, very hot here...lots of flies....is it from the flies being around the coop??? I have up lots of fly tape, etc. I am new to chickens, since May..........................

i assume they're not maggots? only asking since you said you have a lot of flies around.

I thought maggots were a little thicker, these were very fine, but I am not totally knowledgeable on maggots either.....that is what I am hoping it was....like I said, I have not seen any in poop...and I have a lot of samples to observe.

I am going with maggots... I am thinking that they start small and get bigger?

So check out the size of this Marans egg!! That is a large green egg next to it ... I have huge hands, just to give you an idea.

The previous two are just a bit smaller...
