Hey Grandpa, What's for Supper? Part 2

Tonight we had a Taco Quiche in a flour tortilla shell with ground beef, seasonings, cheese and eggs mixed with sour cream. Topped it with all the traditional toppings. Tastey.

BB--Awww you do the Christmas eve jammies thing too!!! So cool to finally know someone else with a messed up fam like mine!!!
When I was little, my dad's parents would send some money to us (since we were a military family, sending money was always quicker then dealing with customs when we were overseas). My mom would then go and buy our present with it, and put thier name on it. Christmas Eve, we were allowed to open one present, and it had to be from gram and gramps, jammies!
Mom said it was so that when she took the Christmas mornin pics, we at least looked better then our normal jammies. Took me untill I was at least 15 before it dawned on me how in the world with my grandparents not seeing us in a long time, how they always knew what our sizes were. I did mention, I'm not the smartest cookie in the cookie jar, right? lol

We had breakfast for dinner tonite. Bacon, hashbrowns, and scrambled eggs. Finally finished off all the white eggs in the fridge, now to finally get the other 20 green and brown eggs eaten. ugh I'm done with egg ideas. Anyone know a recipe that calls for 20 eggs ?? lol

What's gonna happen to all those great recipes in the original thread? What a waste ..if no one is able to save them

I've been really busy with new rescues coming in, but I still manage to cook every now and then

Last night, I did some fish tacos with a couple of Yellow Tail steaks (good texture for taco filling) with fresh flour tortillas.

Tonight, I'm roasting a young chicken and making a cauliflower and gruyere "au gratin" style dish with something green.. not sure yet... and fresh whole wheat dinner rolls. (I'm able to make dinner much later now, since DH changed shifts ..he takes a "lunch" and then comes home and eats dinner. Hope he doesn't get fat from eating in the middle of the night

This evening was day two of Roasted Chicken. Tonight's incarnation was chicken salad sammies on sourdough with some greens and a tomato slice, and a nice pile of kettle chips. Tomorrow will be chicken soup.

Does anyone know when the Big Delete is going to happen?

I wonder if we could save them ourselves. If they'd allow us a little bit of time, perhaps we could each take about 20 pages of the thread and copy any recipes into a new document. Since most of our posts are more statements of what we had, it may not take all that long.

What do you think?

Well, at least you got new jammies!

Until I heard of this from a friend, it never occurred to me that new jammies for Christmas would ensure a steady supply of new jammies each year. My kids have far more jammies than I ever had growing up.

My kids LOVE the tradition and so do I. My family was so disorganized that in my teen years, I usually spent Christmas Eve wrapping my OWN presents. Otherwise they would have been shoved under the tree unwrapped.

At least I could pretend that it was a surprise if I had something to open.

And, so that this is on topic, I *think* I'm going to make chili tonight, although that may end up waiting until tomorrow. It has been a crazy week!

It was even on the list. This is the only day this week I don't have to go to town (atleast not yet, but its still early

). Oh weel I will buy some on the next trip because now I am craving it! I am not sure what we will have, something with deer burger!
