Hey Grandpa, What's for Supper? Part 2

I made taco salads, minus the salad part. Had to take Alyssa to speech after school, then to the pet store, the lizard was hungry, also got mealworms for the peacock.
Got home at 5:30, and there sits Uncle Bruce straight out of the hospital! So we got distracted and didnt get dinner started til late.

I still have the flu

, so DH brought home KFC. He went ice fishing today and won't be home until late. So DS will have a corn dog or hot pocket. Me, I hope to be able to tolerate toast by then.

Get better!!

Thank you! I am really tired of this! My house is falling apart and I havn't been able to hang out with my chickens. It must be obvious how sick I am because DH is helping out alot.

I'm cooking, but everytime I post on this thread my computer wiggs out. I will try again. Last night was chili-cheese dogs. Tonight will be a casserole with curly noodles, onions, mushrooms, broccoli, with a cheese sauce. I made some GREAT baked chicken the other night. I will post the recipe on the other thread, as long as my computer doesn't wig out.

Your dinner tonight sounds very good.

I bought some pork pieces at the store. They look like chopped up pork chops or loin... the price was right for $1.73 for almost two pounds...so I think I'll brown them up in flour like stew meat, and throw them in the crock pot with carrots, onions and potato. I'll make some sort of thick sauce and maybe serve it all over rice or homemade noodles. Gotta make bread too.

I'm thinking chicken fried steak, mashed taters, gravy, hopefully homemade dinner rolls. Might even make them potato rolls, love those.

Dang! So sorry to hear that Aneesa's Muse and thechickenchick are still not well. I hope you guys recover today.

There are some yummy sounding dinners being made lately! It sounds better than the B4D we're having tonight (yes, it's Wednesday!).

Redfeathers - That's exactly the way I love to shop and cook. I enjoy finding something on sale and then figuring out what to do with it. A pork stew sounds delish! No, I didn't go to the Denny's deal yesterday since I didn't discover it until later in the morning. I sent it to hubby at work in case he had time, but he didn't have the time either. There are definitely some deals to be had out there. Hubby got free coffee at Panera the other day.

Speaking of Panera, does anyone have a recipe for their Cobblestone Muffin? The base of it is raisin bread, but it's made Monkey Bread style with chunks of apples, and a streusel topping with icing.

Skand - What potato rolls? Do share!

There's a very large squash in the crock pot ..since last night, actually ...it was dropped and slightly cracked at the store, so it cost me $.79 total! (I also look for the deals and then figure it all out later ...now, if I could just get the Butcher to run some more specials

)

I picked up the Sunset "Comfort Food" edition... so I may be able to find something interesting in there to accompany my "squash something"
