I love me a good grilled cheese. I never buy that American stuff (but I do buy the processed Swiss slices, for some reason they're just what I want on my egg sammies). It's cheddar or Colby/jack all the way. I may have to try some of the fancier cheeses and see how those do, but mostly I'm happy with the cheddar.

tonight is tangy mustard spare ribs with roasted veggies. I think I'm going to toss a granny smith apple in with the veggies.

I had to make a 300 mile round trip today, and let myself get beyond the critical hungry point.
I did something I haven't done in over ten years.
I ate at a fast food restaurant.

Thank god I didn't throw up until I got home.

Lasagna. One large pan without noodles, one smaller pan with. I usually make spinach filling, but instead used the fresh spinach to make a very satisfying salad.

lasagna without noodles is tomato and sausage casserole isn't it?
I love spinach in mine, but my son always told me that it did not belong there.

I should cook something. Make my husband feel appreciated. But I warned him. Cooking... eeeech.
soup sounds good.
Carrots......and..... shopping. Maybe I should go shopping and make my husband feel appreciated.

If it weren't for grilled cheese we'd have no food at all.

Actually, the lasagna without noodles, we call it Constipation Casserole

. We do love our cheese! but yeah, I layer sauce, meat, usually a layer of mushrooms, the filling, more sauce and cheese. I've tried using zucchini, etc to sub for noodles but it gets watery. The low carbers in my family tend to prefer just leaving the carb or starch out of a dish vs trying to make a low carb substitute. I'm thrilled cause it's less work for me

.

Jan, cook your honey something. something with meat. He'll be happy and feel like you appreciate and respect him.

Hey, I even went shopping today! AND I made him pecan cookies... well, they are for the boy, but the they won't all fit in the box.

I loaded up on soup vegetables and as soon as these cookies cool down I will start the chicken vegetable noodle soup.

But I suppose red meat and potato would make him feel loved.
(or... like I am try to bump him off with coronary heart disease)

His parents do not eat green food. Seriously, a vegetable is potato, rice, or pasta.
I figure when he married me I saved his life.

and apparently they don't eat fruit because it is full of sugar.

...but those jelly doughnuts? just sayin'

Thinking about making soup and grilled cheese last night for supper. DH has to have Kraft singles (American cheese) on cheap white bread for his sandwiches - I checked and the Kraft singles had a use by date of Nov 2. OF 2014!! Can you tell I cannot stand American Cheese? and yah, they hit the circular file.
