Once upon a time, before the Instant Pot was even a seedling, there were other full-function digital pressure cookers. This was my second - I’d worn the first one out. This is about 10 years old now, and still going strong! I have an Instant Pot as well, and I do use it, but this one is so much easier to set, and the pressure release knob on the top is large and very clearly marked “pressure” and “steam”. These old eyes sometimes have trouble making that out on the Instant Pot. Love this old girl. Right now she’s being used to sear, and then slow cook a pork roast and veggies for dinner tonight.

Old Faithful….so easy even Katie loves using it when she’s here.

Seasoned and seared pork roast with caramelized taters, carrots, green beans and sprouts, all ready to put on the rack just above a cup of my homemade chicken stock and finish cooking.

And that, Grampa Sour, it’s what’s for supper tonight.

Making burgers tonight .. Yesterday was late all over had go to town messed me all up.

Lemon pepper trout for me and turkey for the Princess at Cracker Barrel. They have a major problem - they are grossly understaffed, and basically service sucked for several reasons. None of them were the fault of our server.
