Okay, I usually don't take the time to eat breakfast-and yes I know it's the most important meal of the day

Between calf and chicken chores, feeding the boys, Gabe's meds and neb treatment, etc I just don't eat

I did have an egg sandwich this morning though, while David did outside chores

Now I'm even hungrier, and these posts are just not helping.

It is so interesting to see the big variety of food/meals people eat, and also, the area of the country some of these meals are cooked at. I grew up in southern california, and was raised on my grandma's home cooking. When I moved up here (blah) at the age of 12 to live with my mom and stepdad, we ate out alot, and my mom made "easier" meals. I so want to try some of these mouth watering meals, and especially some of the southern ones!

Right now it seems like I'm stuck in a rut of spaghetti, hamburgers, chicken breast, casseroles, roast and potatoes, etc. Alot of it is good, but man, I want something different, and my husband is not much help in deciding-whatever I cook, for the most part he is happy with-as long as I cook. I layed out T-bone steaks tonight, from our own steer. The freezer is running low on the steaks though....

Yeah! Aren't those cooler great? I saved mine just in case I build a bator! Oh and the foods not bad either, my kids love the cheese stuffed potatoes...

Whole wheat sub rolls, lightly buttered, then toasted, then cheddar cheese melt over, topped with bacon, fried eggs, lettuce, tomato and mayo. French fries on the side. And some cold sweet milk!

Yogi? Watcha cookin?

Got an extra plate? Fresh Goats milk, yummmmm,
you are now definately on the list of stops for the road trip. I have not had fresh goats milk since my goat died 15 years ago. Can you feel the envy?

Tonight is hamburgers and chips since I cooked that famous Tamali Soup and corn bread for a late lunch.

We had barbque chicken with bacon and chedder chesse on top. A baked potato with sourcream and butter, green beans, and toast. Yum

We used most of our deer making jerky.

Well, I didn't but then I almost did. lol I worked like a little tractor all day on the chicken ranch until 6 this evening. Came inside totally famished. I had eaten a cup of high fiber (bark, roots, and stems) cereal for breakfast and that was it for the day. Well, BrandiGirl did herself proud. She had prepared me a supper that was fit to die for.

Sausage & chicken stew w/brown gravy
Rice
Purple hull peas - from my spring garden These are veggies I put in the freezer.
Yellow Squash - " " " "
Mustard Greens - " " " "
Baked Sweet Potato
Cornbread
And lots, lots of cold sweet milk

Now, I'm not boasting, but folks, it just don't get no better than that. You talk about some serious soul food or comfort food, this is it.
I could not help to think about BramhaMama while I was eating because of her post earlier today. I'm not sure that she would even eat this kind of food, but I think it would be an interesting journey for her.

After a meal like that, I'm done for the night. And I could care less about a time change. I am some kind of seriously comfortable now. Lights out! Nite, nite All.

It's my 2 a.m. wake up call and couldn't go back to sleep for plotting and planning my expansion. So I'm addicted to the chicken channel (BYC). what else? lol

It's sunday, take a breather today and rest!! You are working so hard that we are worrying about you!!!

This is just another variation of the same post! Yogi, I HOPE you're on or someone else that might be able to answer this! I now have fresh frozen tamales to make your tamale soup, how should I cook them?

Yogi, I would Love to try that meal!! I am all for trying different things-or different from what we are used to up here. Now my husband, his dad, etc are a different story. Strictly meat and potatoes-usually a red meat, and baked potato with corn, peas, and sometimes green beans...that's as adventurous as they get

I'm really trying to get my boys to try different things, especially different veggies, as opposed to the standard 3 the rest of the family would be happy with. Again, your guys' menu has me salivating, just thinking about them, lol!

As for tonight, I'm making steak and red gravy, kind of like my grandma made...think she called it swiss steak. I just pulled out my cookbook to check the corn casserole recipe, and to make sure I had all ingredients (I do) so it will be the steak with gravy, mashed potatoes and corn casserole.
